USC’s Boseman to Sit Out a Month
USC guard Stais Boseman will be academically ineligible for the first month of next basketball season and could sit out the entire season if his summer school grades are inadequate, The Times has learned.
Boseman, a 6-foot-4 freshman from Inglewood who played in all 29 games last season and led the team with 38 steals, will sit out at least the first five games for the Trojans. If he fails to pass two summer school courses after not earning enough credits during the spring semester, he will sit out season.
Boseman’s ineligibility comes one month after fellow freshman Avondre Jones, a 6-foot-11 center, was released from his scholarship over an apparent dispute regarding his playing time.
