Soundtrack Season

Though “The Lion King” soundtrack continues to rule The Times’ Southern California pop album chart, a soundtrack from another hot movie is poised to take over. On the heels of a strong opening week in theaters, the “Forrest Gump” soundtrack entered the chart at No. 11. Unless this Tom Hanks movie tails off drastically at the box office, the album should shoot into the Top Five next week. Warren G.’s “Regulate. . .G-Funk Era” remains hot, topping both the Southern California and national rap charts and hanging in third locally among all albums.
