BRIEFLY : Youth: Post-Foster Care Center to Open

Westchester House, a residence and counseling center for youths who have outgrown the foster care system, will celebrate its opening on Wednesday.
The institution will provide shelter for up to 18 months, a $175 monthly food stipend--$225 for teen mothers--training in job search techniques and access to social workers for counseling.
Based in a Westchester apartment complex, the facility was established to help 18-year-olds make an easier move into independent adult life. The building was purchased and renovated with $250,000 in federal funds through the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission.
