SAN PEDRO : Low-Density Zoning Is Topic of Hearing
- Share via
The Los Angeles City Council’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee will hold a public hearing Tuesday on finalizing changes to San Pedro’s residential and commercial zoning.
The 2 p.m. hearing will address maintaining low-density residential development throughout San Pedro and ensuring that development on Pacific Avenue remains commercially viable, said Daniel Cartagena, planning deputy for Councilman Rudy Svorinich Jr.
“In the late 1980s, residents were concerned with demolishing of California bungalows and unique structures that were being replaced with five- to six-unit structures,” Cartagena said. “They wanted the preservation of their neighborhoods.”
The hearing will be held in the council chambers at Los Angeles City Hall, 200 N. Spring St.
