PASADENA : One of Two Women Held in Man’s Kidnaping Released

One woman was released and another woman remained in custody Friday in connection with the kidnaping of a 26-year-old Pasadena man.
Laura Melgar, 28, of Los Angeles was released from jail Thursday night pending further investigation, police said. Walella Mayson, 32, of Norwalk remains in the Pasadena City Jail on suspicion of kidnaping Robert Gray, general manager at the Edmund A. Gray Co., a Los Angeles manufacturing company.
Investigators still want to question Melgar’s husband, an ex-employee of the Edmund A. Gray Co., and Mayson’s boyfriend.
Robert Gray was accosted at gunpoint Tuesday morning as he was leaving his Pasadena condominium to go to work. The abductors left him about 16 hours later in South-Central Los Angeles.
