Van Buren Trial Watch

Highlights of the weapons trial of former Newbury Park All-American football player Leodes Van Buren on Tuesday:

* Marcie James, the key witness in the trial of Van Buren, stunned prosecutors when she testified that she is now Van Buren’s wife.

* James also testified that a companion of the defendant fired shots into her home, not Van Buren. She said she originally accused Van Buren because she was angry with him.

* Meanwhile, investigators in the case testified that Van Buren confessed to them.
