LAGUNA HILLS : Panel Wants Signal at School Entrance

The city traffic commission has recommended placing a traffic signal at the entrance to Laguna Hills High School on Paseo de Valencia.
The City Council must approve the installation, which would cost $100,000. The council will discuss the recommendation at its Aug. 9 meeting.
A traffic study showed that more than 420 cars travel along Paseo de Valencia in front of Laguna Hills High every hour. At least 140 cars per hour enter or exit the high school there.
Parents have complained of congestion as drivers wait for enough time to turn left into the school from northbound Paseo de Valencia, or to turn left from the school onto northbound Paseo de Valencia.
