Times staff writer David W. Myers catches up with former Dodgers and Angels
Traded to the Dodgers late in the 1959 season, Essegian, an outfielder, went on to become one of only two players to hit two pinch-hit home runs in the same World Series. He hit his first in the second game against the Chicago White Sox that year, and his ninth inning shot in the sixth and final game capped the club’s first World Series championship in Los Angeles.
A member of Stanford’s 1952 Rose Bowl team, Essegian, 62, practices law in Encino.
