Fluor Vice Chairman Kontny Resigns After 29 Years at the Engineering Firm

Fluor Corp. said Thursday that its vice chairman, Vince Kontny, has decided to take early retirement after 29 years at the engineering giant.
Kontny, 57, said in a statement that he looking forward to spending more time with his family and on outside interests.
“I have mixed emotions leaving at this time, given the company’s considerable success,” Kontny said. Second-quarter net income for Fluor was $47.7 million, up 14% over the same period last year.
Fluor Chairman Les McCraw praised Kontny as having “made a significant contribution to the company, particularly with his participation in the creation of Fluor Daniel in 1986 and its growth since that time.”
