News, Tips & Bargains : Program Guide for Aloha Festival
- Share via
The 1994 Program Guide is now available for this year’s Aloha Festivals, which will encompass 300 events on six islands over two months and, if past festivals are any guide, will attract nearly a million spectators.
The 48-year-old festival, originally known as Aloha Week, celebrates Hawaii’s Pacific, Asian and Western influences and is the state’s most elaborate cultural event. It is scheduled to begin Sept. 16 in Oahu and conclude Oct. 23 in Kauai.
The Floral Parade--which promoters in Hawaii say is the third most-watched televised parade in the world, after the Pasadena and Portland Rose parades--is Sept. 24 on Oahu.
The guides are $4. To obtain a copy, send a check to Aloha Festivals, 1649 Kalakaua Ave., Suite 204, Honolulu, Hi. 96826.
