Former Duck Skalde Signs With Thunder
Jarrod Skalde, who had two game-winning goals during a stint with the Mighty Ducks last season, has signed with the Las Vegas Thunder of the International Hockey League.
Skalde, 23, had nine points in 20 games with the Ducks after being called up from minor league San Diego after an injury to center Anatoli Semenov.
Skalde--who scored an overtime goal to beat St. Louis Dec. 12 in his first game as a Duck--became an unrestricted free agent after the season. Though the Ducks made a contract offer, General Manager Jack Ferreira said he expected Skalde to sign elsewhere, in part because he could probably make more money playing in the minors.
