OXNARD : 2 Die, Several Hurt in Auto Accidents

Two motorists died Sunday in separate automobile accidents, county authorities said.
In the first incident, an 18-year-old Oxnard man died at about 6:45 a.m. after the car in which he was riding collided with another automobile near the intersection of Pleasant Valley and Hailes roads, authorities said.
Israel Perez died at the scene following the 6 a.m. accident in unincorporated area of the county near Oxnard, said Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens.
Stevens said that several people in both cars were injured when the two cars collided, but their conditions were not released. None of the motorists were wearing seat belts, Stevens said.
The second fatality occurred about 10 hours later on California 126 at Briggs Road near Santa Paula around 5 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. But the CHP had no details or names.
