Weekend TV : A Holiday Lineup Filled With Football

The holiday’s sports lineup kicks off today with a college football doubleheader on ABC. At 12:30 p.m. USC opens the season with the Washington Huskies at the Coliseum, on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42. Then, UCLA and Tennessee meet at the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. on the same channels.
On Sunday, the 1994 NFL season begins, with games to be televised on NBC, Fox and TNT.
Open-minded golf and tennis fans will find two tournaments on the tube: For netters, there’s the U.S. Open today at 11 a.m. on CBS (Channels 2 and 8) and 4:30 p.m. on cable’s USA. Sunday’s matches begin at 9:30 a.m. on CBS and continue at 4:30 p.m. on USA.
For duffers, the third round of the Milwaukee Open tees off today at 10:30 a.m. on ABC, and the final round gets under way Sunday at 3 p.m.
