BODY WATCH : A Walk on the Boulevard Makes Life So Precious
- Share via
When I was 69, I had cancer surgery. Up to then I did not know what “downtime” meant. The doctor advised me to walk as much as I could. In the beginning, I could walk only a few short blocks. Three years later I am walking three times a day and go much farther. Sunset Boulevard is my regular beat. Dog walkers, gardeners and postmen recognize me. I am getting stronger and healthier. My greatest pleasure is when I combine walking with garage sales on weekends. I now have enough paperbacks to last me into the next century.
