Costa Mesa Golfer Shares Senior Lead

Robert Housen of Brielle, N.J., and Dennis Iden of Costa Mesa shot 2-under-par 70s on Monday to share the first-round lead in qualifying for the 40th USGA Senior Amateur Championship in Nicholasville, Ky.

Iden, a 59-year-old salesman and former professional bowler, finished with birdies on three of his final four holes.

The low 64 after today’s second round advance to match play.
