Southland Home Sales Up 20%

Sales of new and existing homes in Southern California are up by 20% in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to TRW REDI Property Data, a nationwide real estate information company.
Between January and August, more than 138,000 single-family homes and condos closed escrow in the six-county region, with an average selling price of $210,135. Sales were particularly strong in Orange and Riverside counties, which showed increases of 26.2% and 23.5%, respectively.
