Costly Cruise

I enjoy the travel articles by Shawn Hubler, especially her “All Aboard!” (Sept. 18), but I sometimes wonder if Ms. Hubler knows how the other half lives.
A family of four that can afford $7,200 for a Caribbean cruise, even if it is all inclusive, is hardly the norm in this area. In some families, $7,200 is the entire annual income. In these times of companies downsizing, mass layoffs and very few comparable jobs to replace those lost, $7,200 cruises are about as attainable for many people as a trip to the moon.
