Dolco Packaging Posts 13% Profit Growth

Dolco Packaging Corp., a Sherman Oaks-based manufacturer of plastic packaging products, reported a 13% jump in earnings in the third quarter.

Dolco posted net income of $959,000 for the quarter that ended Sept. 30, compared to a profit of $850,000 a year earlier. Sales were $16.3 million in the recent quarter, up 4% from $15.6 million a year earlier.

For the first nine months of 1994, Dolco posted earnings of $3.29 million on sales of $48.8 million, compared to a year-earlier profit of $2.86 million on sales of $46.2 million.

The company attributed the improvement to increased sales volume, a broadened product line, and higher prices established recently to offset increased material costs.
