Raveling to Get Out of Hospital Today

After nearly six weeks in the hospital following a near-fatal traffic accident, USC basketball Coach George Raveling is scheduled to be released from USC University Hospital today.
Raveling, who suffered nine broken ribs and a fractured pelvis and clavical on Sept. 25, will not return to coach the Trojans for at least six weeks. In his absence, USC assistants Charlie Parker and Jack Fertig will continue to coach the team.
USC, which will begin regular-season play Nov. 16 against New Mexico State in a preseason National Invitation tournament first-round game, lost to Australia on Monday night, 79-77, in an exhibition game at the Lyon Center.
