Disney Ditch Day

Regarding Disneyland giving free passes to Orange County students on Halloween (a Monday):
I am appalled and disappointed that such an all-American family institution would encourage unacceptable behavior that teachers and administrators work hard to abolish--namely, ditching school!
As an intermediate English language/arts teacher I was unable to teach the carefully prepared lesson for the day due to the fact there was an average of eight to 10 students absent from each class.
We have a difficult enough time keeping students in school without the motivation to be absent by an attraction as popular as Disneyland.
My hope is the management will seriously consider this and not promote such conduct in the future.
