Robert M. Miner, 52, co-founder of Oracle Corp., a Silicon Valley software company. After graduating from the University of Illinois, Miner went to work for Applied Data Research Corp. He formed Oracle’s precursor, Software Development Labs, with Larry Ellison, Ed Oates and Bruce Scott in 1977. Miner led the company’s product design and development and in recent years spun off an advanced technology group within Oracle. He also owned the Oakville Ranch Vineyard. On Nov. 11 in Redwood Shores, Calif., of cancer.
