Most Libraries to Be Closed for Weekend

County libraries will take a long Thanksgiving holiday, remaining closed for the weekend after turkey day.
The move saves money and gives library staff a longer vacation, said Alan Langville, manager of Ventura County’s community libraries. He said the libraries have closed Thanksgiving weekend for several years.
The Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai and Simi Valley branch libraries will be closed Nov. 24-27, as will the Wright library in Ventura and the Prueter library in Port Hueneme, officials said. They are usually open on Saturdays.
The Santa Paula, Oxnard and Thousand Oaks libraries, all independent of the county system, will be open Saturday.
