Tiger Woods Named Magazine’s Man of Year

Stanford freshman golfer Tiger Woods, the former Western High School standout who won the U.S. Amateur last August, has been named Golf World Magazine’s Man of the Year.
The U.S. Amateur victory capped a remarkable summer for Woods, who also won the Western Amateur, the Southern California Amateur and the Pacific Northwest Amateur. The 18-year-old won two of his first four college tournaments at Stanford.
