VAN NUYS : Quake Center Opens to Hear Complaints
- Share via
The Contractors State License Board opened a new Earthquake Response Center in its Van Nuys district office Friday to deal specifically with complaints about contractors doing quake repairs.
The number of complaints has risen dramatically since victims of the Northridge earthquake began receiving insurance payments and federal funds to repair their homes, officials said.
With the additional office, people can expect investigations into complaints to begin within two weeks of their first call, said Sam Haynes, a spokesman for the board.
He recommended that people have the full name and license number of the contractor when calling in a complaint.
The number is (818) 908-4592.
