GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Klingersmith Leads Savanna Past Sonora, 48-41

Amy Klingersmith had 16 points to lead Savanna, which beat Sonora, 48-41, in a nonleague girls’ basketball game Friday at Savanna.
The Rebels (3-5) won despite not scoring in the second quarter. Sonora led, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter and increased the advantage to 21-13 at the half.
But Savanna rallied in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders, 16-6, to take the lead.
Aiyana Nash had 23 points for Sonora (2-6).

Fountain Valley 59, Cerritos 38--Erin Avila made four three-pointers in the second half and finished with 22 points as Fountain Valley (7-4) broke open its 27-22 halftime lead.
Nicole Strange had 14 points and Jennifer Ludwicki added 13 for the Barons in the seventh-place game.
