ROUNDUP : Monroy Leads Santiago in Field Hockey

Ivonne Monroy scored two goals and Santiago beat Westminster, 2-0, in a Sunset League field hockey game Tuesday at Santiago. Camelia Rodriguez added two assists for Santiago (9-2-2, 4-0 in league).

In Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:

Garden Grove 4, Bolsa Grande 1--Jeni Barler scored twice and Tamara Miller and Polly Chittenden each scored once for Garden Grove (2-5-1, 1-0), which led, 1-0, at the half.

In nonleague girls’ soccer:

Newport Harbor 2, Estancia 1--Jill Nelsen scored two goals and Jeremi Teal had four saves to lead visiting Newport Harbor (3-5-3). Jennifer Brunick scored a second-half goal and Beth Ferryman recorded three saves for Estancia (0-10-1).

University 1, Woodbridge 0--Cary Clark scored a first-half goal and Jill Krupoff recorded three saves to lead host University (2-5-2).

Katella 1, Anaheim 0--Jodie Meunier scored a second-half goal for host Katella.

Sonora 3, Magnolia 1--Harmoni McDaniel scored two goals for host Sonora (6-3-3).

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

Laguna Hills 3, San Clemente 0--Nick Sanai had a goal and an assist for host Laguna Hills (5-5-2).
