Los Angeles police on Wednesday revealed the name of a fugitive gang member wanted for a shooting outside a Hollywood nightclub Friday that left a 17-year-old bystander in critical condition.
Israel (Gordo) Sarabia wounded Anthony Martinez about 1:25 a.m. in front of the Probe nightclub in the 800 block of North Highland Avenue, Detective Lloyd Parry said.
Sarabia, whose nickname means “fat” in Spanish, also is known as Israel Barba, Parry said.
Security guards had thrown Sarabia out of the club earlier that evening for disorderly conduct, Parry said. The suspect allegedly drove past later and opened fire on a group of people standing in front of the business.
Martinez, who was handing out pamphlets promoting the nightclub, was hit in the back of the head and remains hospitalized, Parry said.
