BUENA PARK : Gunmen Overpower Guard, Flee With Cash

Two gunmen wrestled with a Brink’s security guard in a Buena Park bank and fled with a bag of cash and the guard’s gun, police said.

The guard was unhurt, and the cash loss was not immediately known, police said.

The gunmen held up the guard and grabbed the bag as he was leaving a Bank of America branch in the 8900 block of Valley View Street, said Lt. Bob Chaney. When the guard fought back, the robbers knocked him down and took his gun, Chaney said.

A man waiting in the getaway car drove the pair to a residential neighborhood a few blocks away, where they switched into a black Isuzu Trooper with no license plates, Chaney said.

The whereabouts of the three were unknown, he said.

The gunmen were described as black, in their late 20s to early 30s, all with average builds. One man, 5-feet-10 to 6-feet-1, wore a black and white sweater, dark pants, boots and a dark cap. Another, described as 5-feet-10 to 6-feet-1, wore dark clothing. The third wore a watch cap pulled low over the eyes, police said.
