Former Crespi High baseball player Joe Ferrone has been hired as an area scout by the Dodgers.
Ferrone, 28, who served as a Midwest scout for two years in the Montreal Expos’ organization, will be responsible for the San Fernando Valley as well as other Southern and Central California regions.
He played at Crespi from 1983-84 and UC Santa Barbara from 1986-1989.
Ferrone replaces Bob Bishop, who took a position with the Kansas City Royals’ scouting department.
