PREP ROUNDUP : Newport Harbor Wrestles Its Way to Eight-Way Victory

Joey Keyes, Josh Hoblic, Jesse Rodriguez and Rickey Beaubouef each won their weight classes to lead Newport Harbor to victory Saturday in the Aliso Niguel eight-way tournament.
Keyes won at 128 pounds, Hoblic won at 148, Lashbrook at 163 and Beaubouef at 192.
Los Amigos also had four champions--Dante Pador (122), Luis Renteria (138), Luis Rivas (143) and David Mejia (174), but had too many forfeits. Los Amigos finished third, and Aliso Niguel was fourth.
In Garden Grove League girls’ soccer:
La Quinta 3, Los Amigos 0--Andrea Taylor, Julie Maddox and Stephanie Grace scored for visiting La Quinta.
Los Amigos 2, Garden Grove 2--Cecilia Zuniga and Erikah Lastrapes scored for visiting Los Amigos (1-10-1, 1-7-1), and Lucy Chittenden and Jeni Barler scored for Garden Grove (7-8-3, 6-3-2).
Santiago 0, Bolsa Grande 0--Jessica Celedon had three saves for host Santiago (2-13-1, 2-7-1).
In Olympic League girls’ soccer:
Brethren Christian 3, Connelly 0--Shannon Everett had five saves in earning her fourth shutout of the season for Brethren Christian (4-5-4, 2-4-4).
In South Coast League girls’ soccer:
Mater Dei 4, Dana Hills 0--Sara Stratton scored twice to lead Mater Dei over Dana Hills (9-5-2, 2-4-1).
Mater Dei 3, San Clemente 0--Sarah McEachen, Katie Ticehurst and Trisha Steiner each scored for Mater Dei (11-5-5, 4-0-3).
In Garden Grove League boys’ soccer:
Pacifica 4, Rancho Alamitos 1--Trevor Stivers and Graig Chow each scored two first-half goals for visiting Pacifica (13-2-1, 9-0-1).
