Canyon Dominates Valencia

Tim Tynan scored 13 points as host Canyon defeated Valencia, 42-27, in a Division II-A first-round boys’ basketball playoff game Friday night.
Ryan Walker added 12 points for the Comanches (12-15), who will play Santa Margarita in the second round. Canyon had a 14-2 lead after the first quarter and made 14 of 23 free throws.
Jermaine Gray led Valencia (9-18) with eight points.
