VENTURA : Driftwood Offered to Public at Beach
- Share via
Driftwood washed ashore by heavy rains last month will be offered to the public today and Sunday at two locations along San Buenaventura State Beach, city and state park officials said.
Anyone interested in collecting firewood from the large pile of debris left over from January’s storms should come to the Ventura Pier parking lot or the beach entrance off San Pedro Street.
Participants can use chain saws to chop firewood along the beach after they receive a permit from on-site officials.
The beach will be open to four-wheel-drive and other vehicles so the wood can be transported home.
Vehicles will be allowed onto the beach between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. today and Sunday.
