COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Cal Baptist Upsets Concordia

The Cal Baptist women’s basketball team, last in the Golden State Athletic Conference regular season, beat second-place Concordia, 66-59, in the first round of the conference tournament Tuesday at Concordia.
Demetria Dixon scored 16 points and Thao Tran had 14 for Cal Baptist (12-19), which led 35-29 at the half and outrebounded Concordia, 48-30, in the game.
Camilla Jonzen scored 16 points and Michelle Kravick scored 15 for the Eagles (18-12).
In another GSAC tournament game:
Biola 87, Southern California College 71--Fifth-seeded Biola extended a two-point halftime lead and beat the fourth-seeded Vanguards at SCC. Lynell Johnson and Shanon Sincock each scored 17 points for Biola (14-17). Tina Southard had 18 points for SCC (17-13).
In nonconference men’s tennis:
USC 6, UC Irvine 1--Former Anteater Brett Hansen defeated Chris Tontz, 6-3, 6-1, in singles for USC (5-2). Hansen, a Newport Harbor graduate, and Fernando Samayoa defeated Cameran Lindee and Kenny Cruz in doubles, 8-1. UCI is 5-5.
