Fields Is Lone Bright Spot for Pilgrim in Semifinal Defeat

Sophomore Jennifer Amrine scored a game-high 22 points with 13 rebounds to lead San Bernardino Christian to a 70-45 win over Pilgrim in a Southern Section Division V-A girls’ semifinal game Tuesday at Pacific High School.
Christy Greene added 20 points and seven rebounds for San Bernardino Christian.
Dawn Fields, who scored 11 of her 19 points in the third quarter, had seven rebounds for the Heritage League champion Patriots, but no other player scored in double figures.
After the opening tip-off, The Knights controlled the game and jumped out to a 16-5 lead. Behind a tough man-to-man defense, they extended that lead to 36-11 at half-time. Pilgrim got to within 53-30 late in the third quarter, but would get no closer.
Pilgrim freshman forward Brandi Brown added seven points and six rebounds.
Christy Greene had 20 points and seven rebounds and Carrie Booth added 14 points and three steals for the Knights.
Records: S.B. Christian 19-7; Pilgrim 20-5.
