Jobless Figures Due: Is the economic recovery continuing in Los Angeles County and the rest of California? Employment figures for February, which are due out Friday, should provide a clue. Figures released last week confirmed a growing recognition among economists that 1994 was a better year for job growth in the state and county than previously thought. Still, 1995 got off to a shaky start, with the county’s January jobless rate rising to 8.9% from 8.1% in December, and the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment level climbing to 8.2% from 7.7% the month before. Economists hope Friday’s numbers will show that the recovery remains on track.
