Franjo Tudjman

* I would like to protest strongly a letter (Feb. 28) alleging that “Croats and Nazis together under President Franjo Tudjman murdered tens of thousands of Serbians as well as Jews.”
It is common knowledge that Croatian President Tudjman, contrary to the allegations contained in the letter, was a Partisan war hero who fought against the Nazis from 1941 until the conclusion of the war. President Tudjman continues to oppose any manifestations of facism, racism or Nazism in the newly democratic Croatia.
It is unfortunate that The Times has been exploited by those who are either ignorant of the facts or have intentionally distorted them in service of a more malignant agenda: distracting attention from the ongoing Serbian aggression in both Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
