CERRITOS : City Targets Site for Low-Income Housing

The city is considering acquiring seven acres of land on Carmenita Road near South Street for a housing project for citizens with low to moderate incomes.
An undetermined number of units would be built on the site to help Cerritos meet state laws requiring cities to develop affordable housing. The first units would be constructed for senior citizens. Cerritos is 98% developed and has no such housing, said Dennis T. Davis, assistant city manager.
