THOUSAND OAKS : Minnelli Moves Concert to August

Liza Minnelli won’t be belting out Broadway tunes in Thousand Oaks March 21 to 24.
Instead, she will be appearing at the city’s Civic Arts Plaza Aug. 9 to 12.
Officials at Avalon Productions, the company that books acts at the new performing arts center, said Minnelli is postponing her Thousand Oaks performances because she needs more time to recover from a December hip-replacement operation.
Theater director Tom Mitze said all ticket holders will be given the choice of using their tickets for the August dates or returning them for a full refund.
“Fortunately, she is not canceling,” Mitze said. “I think she just wants to be 100%, which of course the audience wants as well.”
