Coach: Dennis Claus (fourth year).
1994: 20-2, 10-0 in the Century League. Lost to University, 11-10, in the second round of the Division I playoffs.
Key returners: Ian Chen, No. 2 or No. 3 doubles, Sr.; Rob Claus, singles, first team All-Century, Sr.; Dan Greenwood, No. 3 singles, Sr.; Lance Stern, singles, first team All-Century, Sr.; Ryan Thompson, No. 1 singles, Century League singles champion, reached quarterfinals of section individual tournament, Sr.; Joe Yeh, No. 2 or No. 3 doubles, Sr.
Key newcomers: Jost Hol, singles or doubles, ranked fourth in Southern California boys’ 14s and 24th nationally, Fr.; Jason McAlister, doubles or singles, So.; Nick Mucha, doubles or singles, Fr.; Cameron Taylor, No. 3 singles or doubles, Fr.
Outlook: The only weakness Claus could find was his No. 3 doubles team, which says a lot about Foothill’s talent. Thompson is one of the county’s better all-around players, and Hol, the Fiesta Bowl 14s champion, is one of the county’s more talented freshmen. The Knights will challenge Villa Park and Sunny Hills for the Division II title.
