Key newcomers: None.
Outlook: The Seahawks enter the newly formed Golden West League with an experienced and talented squad. Chilcott’s team is led by seniors O’Bannon, Womack, Traxler and Wersching. O’Bannon was the surprise of the county last season. He earned all-county honors with a 1:54.21 personal best in the 800 meters, leading area runners, in only his first season of competition. Wersching won at the Golden West League cross-country finals, and Womack is one of the county’s best all-around athletes. Womack will be near the top of the county in both hurdle races as well as the 400. Traxler leads the Seahawks in the weight events.
