Women’s Clothing Retailer Wet Seal Reports Annual Loss of $1 Million

IRVINE — Wet Seal Inc., the Irvine women’s apparel retailer, reported a loss of $1 million, or 8 cents a share, for its fiscal year ended Jan. 28. That compared to a loss of $2.4 million, or 19 cents a share, for the previous 12 months.
Sales were down 5% to $133 million from $140.1 million.
For its fourth fiscal quarter, the company posted a profit of $648,000, or 5 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $1.6 million, or 13 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Three-month sales rose 6% to $36.4 million from $34.5 million.
