It’s a Matter of Speed

I enjoyed reading Patrick Goldstein’s “The Wise Man of the Mountains” (Feb. 12) until I got to the line stating that a wildfire can move at a speed of 4 m.p.h. A sentence later, the writer says fire can travel “as fast as a sprinter running a 440.” A person running a 440 is moving at a rate of 18 or 19 miles an hour.
