Mickey Mouse at the Mall: The International Council of Shopping Centers will host a three-day conference examining the growing interaction between the entertainment and retailing industries. The conference, which begins Wednesday at the Universal City Hilton and Towers in Universal City, will examine how and why operators of shopping venues are seeking entertainment-oriented tenants to boost sales. Conferees will discuss opportunities for creating new relationships between players in retail development and the entertainment industry. Among those scheduled to speak are representatives of Warner Bros., Disney Development, Sony, AMC Theaters and MCA Development.
