Dominguez Quits as Cypress Coach
Lola Dominguez, Cypress girls’ soccer coach, has stepped down because of personal reasons. Dominguez has coached the Centurions four years, with teams going to the playoffs the last two seasons. This year’s team was ranked second in Division II, finished the season 15-4-3 and won the Empire League title for the first time.
“She’s done an outstanding job, it’s a big loss for our program,” said John Selbe, Cypress athletic director.
“There’s simply more to soccer than teaching the kids how to play now,” Dominguez said. “There’s the parents, the problems on the sidelines and people who think they know how to do it better.”
