HUNTINGTON BEACH : Concert Series Opens Tonight With Harpist

Harpist Hong Liang will perform at 7 tonight at the Huntington Beach Library and Cultural Center in the first concert in a series of performances offered through June.
Liang, who has won numerous awards in competitions throughout the country, has been principal harpist for the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and for the last year has played with the Pacific Symphony and the South Coast Chorale.
On April 4, the Eleganza Quartet will perform works of Beethoven and Schubert.
A May 16 concert will feature the Landauer-Basye Duo performing music for double bass and cello by Halsey Stevens, Joseph Bodin de Boisemortier and Edouard Nanny.
The April and May concerts will begin at 7 p.m.
The concert series will conclude with a performance June 17 at 5 p.m. by pianist Dan Miller. He will play works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Griffes and others.
Tickets for the performances are $10 each, or $35 for all four. They may be purchased at the Huntington Beach Library and Cultural Center, 7111 Talbert Ave., or by calling (714) 960-8836.
