U.S. Output of Subaru’s Legacy Reduced: Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. said it has cut production of the Subaru Legacy to 6,500 cars a month from 7,000 due to slowing sales and a backlog of inventory. Richard Marshall of Subaru of America Inc., Fuji’s U.S. auto sales subsidiary in Cherry Hill, N.J., said overtime shifts at Subaru Isuzu Automotive in Lafayette, Ind., have been cut back, but none of the plant’s 2,000 workers will be laid off. Schedules for other models are unchanged, Marshall said.
