ANAHEIM — A 4-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday when he was struck by a car near an entrance to Disneyland, police said.
The child suffered head injuries and a broken pelvis and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was in critical condition late Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred near the Disneyland employee entrance just after 6 p.m. when the boy and his parents tried to cross Harbor Boulevard, police said. The child stepped into the path of a car driven by an 18-year-old from Garden Grove, Sgt. Phillip Lock said.
Pedestrians are prohibited from crossing Harbor at that point, which is posted with “no crossing” signs. The driver was not cited, Lock said.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the police department’s traffic bureau at (714) 254-1835.
