LEESBURG, Va. — A teen-age nanny accused of fatally shaking an 8-week-old baby faces a second trial after her first one ended with in a deadlock.
Anna-Corina Peeze, 19, of Amsterdam was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Brenton Scott Devonshire. The judge declared a mistrial Friday after seven hours of deliberations.
Prosecutors, who say they will retry Peeze, charge that the nanny shook the child when he would not stop crying. The defense argued there was no evidence Peeze harmed the infant.
