COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Kaplar Drives In Five Runs in Moorpark’s 10-6 Victory

Gabe Kaplar had three doubles and drove in five runs to lead Moorpark College to a 10-6 victory over Pierce on Tuesday in a Western State Conference interdivision baseball game at Pierce.
Richard Bell went seven innings and had six strikeouts for Moorpark (16-8, 6-5).
Jeff Shapiro had two hits and belted his third home run for Pierce.
Antelope Valley 9, Rio Hondo 3--Eric Cole had a home run and three RBIs in a Foothill Conference game at Antelope Valley.
Jesse Perez (3-1) had eight strikeouts for the Marauders (12-9-1, 7-5).
Cal State Dominguez Hills 9, The Master’s 6--The Mustangs (11-12) blew a 4-2 lead in the third-inning of the nonconference game at Master’s.
Jeff Bennett had three hits, including two doubles, for Master’s.
Cuesta 9, Mission 6--Anthony Martinez and John Toven hit back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning but the Free Spirit (6-19, 2-9) lost a WSC interdivision game.
Hancock 7, Canyons 4--Guy Giuffre’s solo home run lifted Hancock (18-7, 8-3) to a WSC victory at Canyons (10-15, 6-5).
Oxnard 10, Valley 3--The Condors (14-7, 5-6) had six runs and 14 hits in the second inning of a WSC interdivision game at Valley.
