THE PREPS : Kolbach’s Double in 10th Lifts Mater Dei

DANA HILLS — Mike Kolbach’s two-run double in the 10th was the difference as visiting Mater Dei beat Dana Hills, 3-1, in a South Coast League baseball game Friday.

With the game scoreless, Mike Hessman’s home run in the top of the ninth inning gave fifth-ranked Mater Dei (4-1 in league) a 1-0 lead.

Matt Ralph singled and later scored on a wild pitch for Dana Hills (5-6, 2-3) in the bottom of the inning.
